Funded: Help Nurse Poppa Back to Health

One evening during Poppa's stay at a local shelter, he had an attack of vomiting, bloody diarrhea and lethargy and was rushed to the emergency vet.

Poor Poppa spent several days in the hospital being monitored 24 hours a day with IV fluids and medication, but at one point he crashed, with no readable blood pressure and a heart arrhythmia. Thanks to aggressive treatment, Poppa's blood pressure came back up and the arrhythmia resolved, but this sweet senior pup was diagnosed with acute hemorrhagic diarrhea syndrome, also known as hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, which caused his concerning symptoms.

When Poppa has fully recovered from his condition, he can start the search for his forever family. He's made strides in his healing, but Poppa still requires a significant amount of medical care before he can be adopted.
